Jordyn
This girl! Jordyn is quite the busy baby! She is always on the move and into everything! Her favorite face to make is pictured above. We like to call it her duck face. She makes this face several times a day and laughs when I do it back to her. She has always been the go-getter baby and hit milestones on time. I've said from day 1, she was ready to be born, even if it was 6 weeks early. She wants to walk so badly and is not afraid of falling. The girl is fearless! She walks holding onto the edge of furniture and will let go and try walking even though she can only go 3 steps. Jordyn makes this face when she lets go and stands on her own. We call it, "no hands!" Adalyn is such a sweet baby! The sounds she makes and her smile are just sweet. She recently discovered how fun clapping is! She is used to us saying, "Yay, Adalyn" when we clap. She will either join us when we say it or will just randomly clap and look at us with this proud smile. It is one of the cutest things! Jordyn will see Adalyn do it and join in too. It's like she wants us to know she can do it too! 😉 Adalyn has really gotten good at crawling. She used to just go short distances and would stop and cry for us to come get her if it was too far. Now she leaves rooms and crawls away from us! 😜 I mentioned above that she pooped in the potty chair! I am by no means potty training them already! A few months ago they were pooping consistently before bath and then several nights in a row IN the bath! Actually, Jordyn has done it the last 2 nights in a row!🙄 My mom suggested sitting them on the potty chair before bath and see if they'd go. Well once we ordered the potty chair they, of course, stopped going consistently. I usually sit them on the potty chair a minute before bath just to get them used to it. One night we skipped bath. I was changing Adalyn's diaper and noticed a tiny poop pebble coming out. I quickly took her to the bathroom and had her sit about 5 minutes. She played with her dog blanket and the vent. I was about to give up and she went! It sure beat cleaning her dirty diaper! I discovered while at the park with our friends, Brendan and Ashton, that Jordyn hates the grass! She was putting her legs on Ashton to keep her feet from touching the grass! The picture with her feet sticking straight up is just hilarious! Adalyn of course LOVED the texture of the grass! It's funny how their personalities have been the same since inside the womb and also how they change and surprise us. I would have guessed Jordyn would like grass and dirt but it is the opposite. Adalyn likes the texture of the grass, we just have to watch to make sure she doesn't eat it! Another way they have changed is their cuddliness. Jordyn used to want down and away and Adalyn would cuddle. Now it is the opposite. Adalyn wants down and wants to explore and Jordyn likes laying her head on our shoulders for snuggles. I guess Jordyn thinks she has seen it all and Adalyn is discovering all that Jordyn already has! We had our 3rd annual Lincoln small group gathering! The last 3 years we have gotten together with our friends from our small group from Lincoln. Back then all of us,except the Mauhar's, were kid-less. Now, we all have kids! It was busy but still fun! While we were with our friends, Jordyn discovered toy cars. She went up and down the hall pushing this car. When we got home, she found a toy boat and was pushing it like the car. She went around testing different toys seeing which would scoot the best. Her favorite items to push are books. She can go pretty fast with the books! I have a cute video of her pushing a book all over the living room and stopping to give me a smile then back to pushing. Needless to say, we bought her some cars like our friend's for her birthday! 😜 I was even able to find one with colorful flowers on it! I can't believe the girls are 1! In one sense it seems like they were just born and I was just pregnant and in other ways, those newborn days seem so long ago! It has been one crazy, busy, exhausting year, but one I wouldn't trade for anything! This picture was taken their last night being babies. Okay, I know they are still babies but not sure how you say it, not one or 0? I had Kyle take this picture right after I fed them. It is a reminder to me of all the hard work nursing took for us but also the reward I got from it. I am so thankful for Kyle and my mom for encouraging me to do it and make it to a year.
I decided to wait and hold off on posting birthday pictures. We are having their party in a week so I will just make a separate birthday post. Until then, here are some pictures from the weekend! They are such big girls now!
