Jordyn
I've been trying to decide what I want to do with the blog now that we have made it to a year. I decided to not do monthly updates like I was but just post when I feel like it...or have time! 😜 It is almost impossible to get posed pictures of the two of them, so monthly pictures are more work than I want. As far as time goes, I have new freedom in not physically providing them with nutrients, but I've found I've traded what kept me busy with stuff that is keeping me busier! With all that said, here is what has been keeping us "busy" this summer! Lots and lots of water fun! Playing with birthday gifts We are big fans of the splash pad! I can't get over the cuteness of these running shorts my dad and Michelle got the girls! My mom bought the girls shoes that make these outfits even cuter! I'm trying to turn these two into little runners! They are pretty good running mates in the jogger for now. These pictures were taken a year apart at VBS. 😊 Last year, Adalyn was still in the NICU but this year both girls got to attend! Adalyn loves the attention from the high school girls! 😊 Uncle Matt graduated from welding school so we got to visit our Ohio family! I love how the girls have cousins to play with in addition to aunts and uncles! We went out to eat, got ice cream, and went to the zoo while we were with family. Kyle went to camp for a week and the girls and I were home by ourselves. The week went pretty quick and we got to take a day to visit! Blake helped me out and came with us! The trip went so smooth with the help of Blake! We made a quick trip to my mom's to celebrate the 4th of July. My mom and Mike were almost home from their 18 hour drive from Maine when we asked if we could come swim. My mom quickly made a shopping list and ran to the store before we got there. The girls had fun playing outside, going for a wagon ride, playing with toys, and Jordyn and I went swimming in the cold pool! The girls are also warming up to the big dog, Maxwell. They are now touching him without freaking out! We left around 7 and the girls slept most of the way home. We were able to see parts of over a dozen different firework shows. The girls never would have made it without a major melt down if we had gone to see fireworks. This was a nice way to let them sleep but still see some fireworks! I know she is only 13 months but I've been having her use the potty chair. For a week or two straight the girls were pooping in the tub ever night or every other night! I have gotten pretty good at telling when they are going to do it and try to pull them out and put them on the toilet. Adalyn will push as soon as I sit her on the toilet. She usually goes to the bathroom. Even when she doesn't have to go, I can still feel her stomach push. I figure I might as well save a few dollars and have her try. I've read some blogs of people who potty train their 13-15 month olds. I know there are two sides to potty training early vrs later but I figure since she seems to be making the connection of pushing, I should run with it. The one part I'm not sure on is how she will communicate she has to go. One ladies 13 month old could say potty so that helped. Right now, I just read her pooping face. We'll see what happens! Since I had a picture of Adalyn, I feel like I need to keep it fair! 😜 Jordyn won't sit long on the potty chair so I'm not pushing it with her yet. I'm trying to get her walking though! She walks really well holding 1 hand but the second we let go, she sits down. I can get her to do 4-5 steps sometimes but she'd rather crawl. I am really looking forward to her walking! It will make getting out to the van a lot easier...at least in my mind it does! Well, like I said, pictures together are hard to come by! Until next time, this will have to do! 😊
