These two are growing up so fast! I am already dreading the school age years because I know once they start, time seems to fly even faster! We just got over another season of, for lack of better phrase, “terrible two” behavior. It seems like they’ll have a few weeks of tantrems and non-stop whining along with sleeping difficulties then one day they are over it and we have our adorable children back. Thanks to my mom’s suggestion, role playing has been our secret weapon when trying to eliminate a behavior. Jordyn Rose...this girl doesn’t stop! She loves to climb and give me heart attacks! She mastered this ladder and is now working on monkey bars. She wants to do them by herself and doesn’t want me to help. She’ll hang a few seconds then ask for help. She is also doing much better at talking! The other day she was fussing and pointing to her mouth. She finally said, “drink of water!” I never in a million years would have guessed that because we were in the bathroom of all places! She is able to do so many things by herself and likes to be helpful! I love that she is becoming more independent but sometimes the task is too hard and she doesn’t want help. She’ll cry and fuss and when we try to help, she gets even more upset. I guess this is the next stage of toddlerhood! Adalyn Grace...this girl is always focusing on something ... and half the time it’s NOT us as we are trying to get her attention! She loves to learn and could sit and read books for hours! She is able to focus on activities for quite a while! She knows all her letters, some letter sounds, can count to 10, and knows her colors! We think Jordyn knows those things too but her accuracy isn’t as great as Adalyn’s. We think Jordyn is too busy to show she knows them! Adalyn is pretty good at coloring too! She still scribbles but she does it in the lines. She also likes to do things herself but her frustration level isn’t as quick as Jordyn’s. I’m sure in a few weeks she’ll start getting frustrated and refusing help like Jordyn because that’s how their phases tend to work. Her speech continues to amaze me. She talks all the time and uses complete sentences. She pretty much narriates our day. One of Jordyn’s strengths is her physical strength. She has always been strong and likes a physical challenge. Adalyn is more inclined to do activities that require focus but still loves to play outside! She will see Jordyn do tricky things and it will motivate her to give it a try! They both love to run which makes me happy! I take them on runs sometimes and they like that. They also love to run in the grassy fields. Sometimes they pick running in the grass over playing at the playground! I guess this is a perk of having two kids the same age, they push each other through their strengths and weaknesses. While Jordyn likes to stay busy, she also likes to learn. She sees Adalyn getting into letters and numbers and wants to do it too. They both love crafts. Adalyn will do activities longer but they both enjoy doing them. This picture of Jordyn and me was taken on a night Jordyn was being exceptionally difficult and I was losing my patients fast with her. Out of no where she said her first sentence and quickly melted my heart! I wish i could remember the sentence but it was something about my water bottle being like Aunt Ashlan’s. I got excited that she actually used a string of words together and she grabbed my hand and gave me the best smile! I told Kyle to take a picture so I’d remember it! She has been preferring me more lately but definitely hasn’t lost her daddy’s girl status. It has given Adalyn more chances to give Kyle her amazing tight squeeze hugs! October was a lot of fun! We had a blast doing lots of fall activities! Our neighborhood group that meets at our house carved pumpkins one night. We meet after our kids are in bed. Ashlan has been joining and left her pumpkin for us. I put my pumpkin and Ashlan’s with our other pumpkins outside. We hadn’t carved the others yet. Anyway, when we walked outside they both noticed them right away and said, “It’s broken!” I asked them who broke it and Jordyn said, “Aunt Ash broke it!” Adalyn was saying, “No, no Aunt Ashlan!” I was able to get it on video! Jordyn now blames Ashlan for many things! I guess all the pictures we take are paying off! This was our easiest photo shoot yet! They were being so sweet! We told Adalyn to give Jordyn a hug and she did! After Adalyn put her arm around Jordyn, Jordyn reached her arm across Adalyn’s lap. You have to look hard because her arm blends in with Adalyn’s dress. Here is our Santa picture! No tears in the actual photo this year. We went before Thanksgiving and there was no line at all! Kyle and I were in the first picture then hopped out. Adalyn was starting to cry but then heard Eden crying. She went into big sister mode and held it together in order to comfort Eden. My mom used the tambourine they had and Adalyn turned to see what the noise was. That’s when they captured the picture! *I should add that this picture hasn’t scared them and they are actually interested in Santa after seeing him. They spot him all over the place now! I can’t say this enough but we love being so close to Aunt Ashlan! She’s over at least once a week and jumps right in and helps! The girls talk about her all the time and blame her for anything broken. I think I’m done telling stories. I’m going to add some of my favorite picture to close! I love these outfits and Adalyn’s curls! Uncle Jim came for a short visit! Both of the girls loved visiting with him! They wanted to show him their blankies...they are excellent at stalling nap and bed time! This was a day in the 60s that Jordyn announced it was “cold” when we walked outside! They have some pretty sweet sister moments. They do fight and get on each other’s nerves...I just don’t have pictures of those! Jordyn likes to ride the bike to the mailbox now. Thid picture is blurry but they were going down this slide with their arms around each other. They did this several times in a row and Jordyn would even wait for Adalyn so they could go down together! Little Miss Hollywoods Eating s’mores More park fun! These two bring me so much joy, frustration, and love! I’m thankful God chose me to be their mom!
