Eden developed a real bad fussy time in the evenings for most of this month. She has been cute during the day but a fussy girl come evening. It seemed to be the worst around 6 weeks old. She would only take little cat naps in the evening and would just cry unless we held her. Of course it was during dinner and bedtime routine with the twins so things were crazy! Part of it is gassy problems. I've cut out dairy (mostly) and she seems to be more content. Also, after being at my mom's, we discovered she likes the glider. Unfortunately she doesn't care much for the swing we have. Since my mom is on summer break from daycare, she let us take it home. That has helped us tremendously during the evening rush! I also read the other night in my sleep book, Healthy Sleep Happy Child, that 6 weeks is a peak for fussiness. It definitely played true for us! I feel like we are super close to getting 8 hours out of her. She has gone 8 hours twice now but not consistently. I've tried replicating what I did those nights but it didn't help. She is in the habit of waking up at 5 am regardless of how late I push back her dream feed. When I go in to get her, her arm is out of the swaddle. I think she moves it and it wakes her up. I try and assess if she is hungry or just woken up by something. Some mornings I can give her the pacifier or put her in the glider and get another hour out of her. I keep reminding myself that we are way ahead of where we were with her sisters at this point. It's a lot of work but I'm hopeful we are almost there! I know they don't look happy here but they were actually excited about the grocery cart and were perfect the whole time in the store. We made a quick grocery run one day and no one had a melt down... including me! 😉 I feel like I'm kind of (on some days) getting the hang of this whole mom of 3 thing. I am very much a routine and structure person and I feel like we've hit our stride. Of course we are moving in a month and we'll have to figure it all out again! 😜 I just have to say, smiles are the best! Eden started smiling this month and we melt every time! I just missed her smiling but the picture on the right was taken right after she smiled at her sisters. They were pretending to feed her and she seemed to like the interaction! It's fun watching her notice things now. She caught me taking a picture but she was watching the butterflies spin around on her mobile. This picture is blurry but still makes me smile. She noticed her reflection in the mirror above the swing. Our favorite summer place to play is the Ty Warner Park splash pad! The girls and I went often last summer and we've made it there twice with Eden. I haven't attempted it by myself since Kyle has been home the days we have gone. We met our friends Lucie and Dean most recently. It was fun seeing them again! I guess it's been 2 months since they were at our house playing everyday! I also forgot Eden's sun hat so Dean shared his! When we were in Springfield, Eden met my life long friend, Manning Meeting her great-grandma I feel like I wrote a lot in this post but still wanted to include some cute pictures! This cute outfit was from our friends the Johnson's. It was one of the outfits they got the twins and now Eden gets to wear it! I love how different outfits make me think of the people who gifted them to us! Maybe that is crazy that I can remember who most outfits are from, or maybe it is just a mom thing!? Time sure does not slow down! I am trying hard to document it all so I remember but also live in the moments and enjoy what is happening now.
