There is so much to say about this little girl. She is quiet but also the biggest ham. When a lot of people are around she is pretty content and quiet. She takes it all in. If you get her one on one she is so funny. She dance to get a laugh and giggles so loud. Just the other day I was trying to nurse her. Two of her sisters were being handfuls and being loud. She kept stopping while nursing and pointing her finger and almost yell jabbering. It cracked me up. Brooklyn has had a lot of firsts this month. First Easter. She let me put Eden’s birthday bunny ears on for a picture along with a bunny shirt I had as a baby. It was embroidered for me. She was well loved at Easter! First time at a petting zoo. Brooklyn took it all in. She was a little nervous at first but was held and content seeing animals and watching her sisters. First bike ride. Kyle and I sold our bikes in one of our moves and recently got new bikes. We got a seat for Brooklyn and can all finally go on family bike rides. The week after our first family ride, Adalyn broke her pinky and is in a cast. 🤦🏻♀️ Two more weeks and we’ll be out again! Brooklyn was not a fan of the helmet the first ride. Her second ride she did better but held it the whole time. Hopefully she’ll get used to it soon! First steps. She took her first steps the day before turning 11 months. She takes more and more each week. She was up to 6 or 7 before falling. Now she can walk across a room and get back up if she falls. This past week she has really taken off and become a walker. First taste of dairy free ice cream. We went out to Dairy Queen after learning they make dairy free dilly bars. I didn’t think to bring something for her and she was getting mad being the only one not eating. I shared the last of my ice cream with her. She wasn’t sure at first but decided it was pretty good. First time eating flowers 😂. This child puts everything in her mouth! It’s been hard to let her play in the yard because we have acorns and I don’t want her choking! Thankfully within the last week she has been better about putting stuff in her mouth. Maybe common sense caught up to her 🤷🏻♀️. When we took their Easter pictures she ate so many flowers. I was constantly swooping them out if her mouth! First activity games. Now that she isn’t trying to eat everything I can let her play with toddler activities. She will sit and play with little things while I work in the kitchen. This one is a favorite of hers. She just takes out and puts back milk caps. She also enjoyed figuring out how to put the bottle lid back on by herself! First princess party. Brooklyn was Snow White at Eden’s birthday party. Really she just dressed up for a picture and then hung out with G-pa. It made for a cute photo though! First donut! The only reason she let me put the crown on her head was the donut. She was a big fan! First birthday! It’s so hard to believe this girl is one! She sure has added joy and laughs to our lives!

Brooklyn is quite the funny baby. She is always wanting attention. If you are holding her but not looking at her she will lean forward and put her face in front of yours until you make eye contact. She bursts into a smile and giggles and then wants you to fake look away. She also likes it when we make noises at her. She tries to repeat them. The new thing she has learned is blowing bubbles in the bathtub. Adalyn taught her and now she loves it but ends up drinking more water than blowing bubbles 🤦🏻♀️ This little girl makes a bee line to her sisters’ room and goes straight to the closet! She likes the princesses too but more so for chewing 🤦🏻♀️. She is like a dog and is always checking under the table for fallen food. With her dairy intolerance we are always making sure food didn’t get dropped from the older girls. The older girls love the movie Pocahontas and sing all the songs. The “Savages” song gets stuck in our heads 😬. I changed the lyrics to say, “Scavenger” and sing it when Brooklyn is “scavenging” for food. Adalyn does it too and as soon as I hear Adalyn sing it I go and grab Brooklyn! If she doesn’t find food she goes to the paper cart and pulls out scrap paper. One day she found a crayon and was actually coloring the paper! It’s amazing what babies learn from watching! She is looking at me like, “What? You let my sisters color whenever they want!” This little stinker has started a bow strike! My friend Kelly said, “What? You aren’t an Alt baby without a bow!” I’m going to blame COVID. I only put them on when we go places and she has stayed home the most as a baby. We have enjoyed a nice spring! We have been outside most days! Brooklyn likes the swings and also watching her sisters play. The pop up pack n play has been great for outside. She doesn’t like sitting in the stroller unless we are on a walk. The pack n play is super easy to move around. She loves playing and watching her sisters and I have been able to get yard work done. I love how much use we have gotten out of this water table! We have had it 5 years now and it’s gotten use every year! Excited for water weather! She loves doing whatever her sisters are doing. It’s fun to see them interact together. Brooklyn stands up on her own and tries to take steps. Usually once she picks her foot up to move she loses balance. Yesterday she was able to take 2 steps without falling. She seemed surprised and looked down at her feet and lost balance. This is Brooklyn’s friend, Lydia. They are 5 weeks apart. Lydia has shared clothes with us and we are super grateful. Brooklyn has many hand me downs but with the twins being born in summer and Eden living in AZ the seasons have been off. When Lydia and Brooklyn get together they like to look at each other and typically pull on each other at different times. Curious little girls! I’m excited to watch their friendship grow! We were able to participate in baby dedication this month. Our church put on a nice service for the families with babies. I love baby dedication because it’s a tangible reminder that we as parents are partnering with the church to raise Brooklyn to know and love God. We want Brooklyn to take delight in the Lord just like he takes delight in her. Zephaniah 3:17 has been the verse we prayed over all the girls. “The Lord you God is with you, He is mighty and saves. He takes great delight in you. He will calm you with his love and he will rejoice over you with singing.” Brooklyn is becoming so fun and getting a spunky personality. She makes games out of the simplest things and is always looking for a laugh. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! You would think with all the staying home it would seem long but it sure hasn’t! One more month and I’m out of babies! 😭
I talked about sleep last month so I thought I would start this month off with an update! Thanks to Jordyn, Brooklyn is sleeping most nights. Jordyn told me if Brooklyn doesn’t wake me up then she would let Brooklyn play with her bunny, Twinkle Star, the next day. Surprisingly enough Brooklyn slept all night that night. Jordyn was so excited her idea worked. We have had more good nights than bad so I’d say we are moving in the right direction! There was a night she woke up. When the girls asked the next day I told them. Adalyn felt bad and said she could still play with her toy but Jordyn told Adalyn Brooklyn wouldn’t learn. 😂 Brooklyn is really showing her personality these last few weeks. She was teething hard and put this toy in her mouth and we were cracking up. She started giggling and doing it more. Bonus getting a picture of her standing! This girls knows when she is funny. I put her in here and got snack for her sisters. When I came out of the kitchen she was giggling. I asked her what was so funny and then noticed she was waving her hair bow. I said, “You took your bow off!” She started laughing like she got the reaction she’d hoped for! Brooklyn loves “The Blessing”. When it comes on she sweetly jabbers to it. When they sing, “Amen” she says “Ahhhh” like she is singling it. It came on one day and I didn’t notice until I heard her. If she randomly says, “Ahhhh” the girls will say Brooklyn wants to hear “The Blessing” 😂. Her favorite game is to crawl fast in circles through the living room, kitchen, and dining room. We chase her and she giggles so hard she gets the hiccups. This girl is getting so big! She can cruise along furniture and is standing on her own pretty well. We have had a lot of snow this month. Most days were too cold for Brooklyn to be out but we have had a few days where she could join us. She isn’t so sure about it as you can see but hopefully next year will love it. The girls play in the backyard while I am inside with Brooklyn. One day I let them get up early from nap and we made a tunnel. I love the snow and love that my girls love it too. Adalyn and Eden helped make this with me. Cutie pie looking out the window. We had fun celebrating Valentine’s Day with our newest Valentine. My mom sewed the girls matching dresses. It is hard to get a picture of all 4 looking and smiling so this Pinterest-inspired picture was the perfect way to capture our girls this year. Kyle got flowers for all 4 girls. Brooklyn looks surprised 😂 She finally cut her last front tooth. She was obsessed with this teether from Aunt Heather. She may be cute but she was also the reason for my coffee consumption that day! I’m so glad that tooth cut! The Doctor said we should hopefully be getting a break but I’m pretty sure I see and feel molars coming in on top. She has some awesome big sisters who love her to pieces! Eden says Jordyn and Adalyn are twins and she and Brooklyn are sisters. She says in in a way like it’s their own thing. I hope these two become close friends as they grow! We love this silly girl so much!
