How can 2 years come and go so quickly?! Seeing Eden so little brings back all the newborn memories of the girls. I'm going to be honest, I'm glad we are celebrating their second birthday and not their birth! 😉 I have enjoyed them at every stage, but man, those newborn days were tiresome! This picture is so Jordyn. She was being a pistol while taking these pictures. Kyle went to take one more and she did this. I was frustrated at the time but laughed when he showed me. She just needs a cowgirl hat and a pair of boots!
It took Grammy and bubbles but we got a posed picture smile out of Adalyn!
We spent the last weekend before Eden was born by going to the arboretum and the zoo. I was really hopeful that Eden would be born before Easter and wanted to enjoy our last weekend as a family of 4. I was also hoping the walking would be good for starting labor! 😉 It was really special to have that time with the girls and Kyle! It may have been a few days longer than I had hoped but I was right about Eden arriving before Easter! Here are some of my favorite pictures of the girls meeting her for the first time. Since Eden was born on Good Friday and we were in the hospital on Easter, we did our Easter activities 2 weeks after Easter. My dad, Michelle, and Ashlan were all visiting too! It was nice having extra hands to help the girls too! I cannot believe how well these 2 have adjusted to having a baby sister! When Eden is awake, they want to see her and kiss her. Jordyn loves to be the one to hold her in pictures of the 3 of them. Whenever Eden cries, Adalyn will gently pat her and say, "shh shhh shhh!" They both rock her when she is in her car seat especially if she is crying. We're working on rocking gentle and slow though! They love helping me push the stroller any time I have it out! A few weeks ago we were able to meet up in Indianapolis with Kyle's dad and siblings. We went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum and Chick-fil-a for dinner. It was too short but we all enjoyed the time together. When we were at the children's museum, the girls loved this station. They worked as a team. Adalyn would stuff the handkerchiefs into the tube and Jordyn would push the button. Both girls would look up to watch the wind push the handkerchiefs up out of the tube. They would both laugh and say, "Wow!" They did this a good 15-20 minutes and was so cute and funny to watch! These girls love their animals! My mom has horses, cows, and sheep walking distance from her house. We were also able to take the girls to the zoo in Springfield and they both got to pet a donkey. We have lots of ducks and geese by our house and they get SO excited when they see or hear them. At the zoo we saw baby geese. The girls loved how close they were to them. I was nervous! Geese kinda freak me out! In preparation for their birthday we have been working on showing 2 fingers. Adalyn is pretty close to doing it on her own! We joke that she has been practicing since an infant. As a baby, she would star at her hands and move her fingers. It was like she was practicing with 1 and 2. This kid! She was proud of herself for scooping the ball out of the bucket! She really is a happy kid when she is well rested and her teeth aren't bothering her. (We've been working on 2 year molars for a month now) She has seen me use this on Eden a few times and likes to snatch it and use it on her baby. It is amazing to me what they pick up even if they only see it a few times! When Eden is napping or eating, they settle for their dolls. I loved baby dolls as a kid and I'm so excited they love them too! This picture sums up their relationship. Sometimes they are the best of buds and other times they are fighting and mad. I pray as they get older they have more and more friendship moments and less fighting.

We had a small birthday party for the girls with some of our family near Springfield and some visiting. Girls with Great Grandpa Kenny, Great Grandma Shirley, and Great Uncle Dan Girls with Great Papaw, Great Uncle Randy, Grammy, and Papa Our family of 5! Jordyn was so done with pictures by this point! Party Theme I'm pretty proud of my sign! I had no vision for it and glad it turned out the way it did! Still can't believe they are 2 already! What is this stuff on my drink!? Are you sure I can drink out of it with this on it? Yeah, I don't think I like this on my cup! Oh! Pretty cup! Okay, get this thing off please! Really, please get this off! Seriously guys, you can't see my head when I do this. We tried to play a little "tutu" bowling but Jordyn was having more fun packing and unpacking the pins! Every time we got the game out Jordyn would fuss at us and pack it up. Thankfully Adalyn didn't care much. She actually liked playing with just the bowling ball. Teeter-totter fun! Adalyn often is perceived as serious or grumpy by those who only get to know her through my pictures. These pictures let her personality shine! She may not be super photogenic during posed pictures but she sure has a contagious laugh and smile when she is having fun! Bird Face! Ever since Jordyn was a few days old she has mastered the bird face. It was more her rooting face as a new born. As she got older we named it and now they both make the face when we say, "bird face!" Having fun with daddy! This game gives me a heart attack most times! Here are some pictures of our little Eden June at the party. She did a good job not stealing the show from her sisters! She was awake pretty much the whole time and didn't make much of a fuss. She even waited until the party was over to be ready to eat! We had such great weather for an outdoor party! The girls all had a great time and I think all of us adults had a great time just watching them! It's crazy how fast time goes by and these birthdays really make me stop and cherish the age they are now before it is gone.
