This was such a busy month for our family and it's about to get even busier! We sold our house in Willowbrook and moved to my mom's in Chatham. We have all our belongings stored in my mom's basement and our friend Amy's basement. Kyle is on his way today, July 14, to Arizona. The girls, my mom, and I will fly out Wednesday, the 19th. Eden has pretty much gone with the flow. She keeps me on my toes by changing as soon as I think I figure a schedule out. She loves to lay on her back and kick her legs. I'm excited but sad Eden is 3 months. This is my absolute favorite baby age and I know it is going to fly! They are still little but able to do more than infants. They start noticing objects, hold their bodies up better when you hold them, stay awake longer during the day, go to bed early, and sleep at night. Putting them down for naps is still relatively easy and sleeping on the go still happens. It won't be long before I'll be a slave to the two-naps-a-day schedule and have to start cry-it-out. I have enjoyed the twins at every age but do miss these 3 month baby days. I wrote in her stats section that she "can sleep 12 hours" because she has shown me she can do it. At 10 weeks she did 3 nights in a row with a feeding at 7pm then sleeping until 7 in the morning. She had a few nights of waking up once and then was back to sleeping 12 hours again for a whole week. When we got to my mom's, she started waking up once during the night again. I'm not sure if it's a growth spurt or just change in routine. She seems to be struggling with what Babywise calls the 45 minute intruder. It's when they wake up 45 minutes to an hour into a nap. Babywise says to treat it as a hunger issue at first but if feedings don't help then it is probably a sleep problem. I guess when babies change sleep cycles they are prone to waking up during the shift. It tends to happen 45 minutes after being laid down. Because we are living in transition, I'm trying not to stress about sleep stuff. I've been starting her in her bed and moving her to the swing to finish her nap. I'll figure out sleep stuff when we get a new normal in Arizona but for now I'll admire how cute she is with her lovie bunny. 💕 Eden has some pretty awesome big sisters. Jordyn is a natural when it comes to Eden. This really surprised me because she didn't dote over Lucie and Dean the way Adalyn did. Whenever Eden cries, which isn't often, Jordyn looks at me and says, "Edy cry". One day I walked in from being outside and Eden was crying in her bouncy seat. My mom was with Adalyn in the bathroom. Jordyn was squating next to Eden gently bouncing the chair saying, "shhh shhh shhh." I told her she was such a good big sister! She also asks to hold Eden. She sits down and knows to put her arms around Eden. The picture above my mom jokingly told Jordyn to give Eden to me. Jordyn grabbed her like, "okay!" Obviously we didn't really let her carry Eden! 😉 This picture cracks me up! Eden is looking at me like, "Really, Mom?! This book again?!" 🙄 I've always described Adalyn as a mother hen. She makes sure Eden has her toys, burp cloth, blankies... This particular book is one that Adalyn knows is Eden's and brings it to her multiple times a day. Adalyn will hold Eden but surprisingly doesn't enjoy it as much as Jordyn. She holds her for a few seconds and is done. She'd rather give Eden kisses and toys. Eden is a pretty strong girl! She holds her head up on her own and pushes herself up on her forearms when laying on her belly. She can roll from her belly to her back but has only done it one time. Eden celebrated the 4th of July with just mom and dad. Her sisters were with Grammy. Eden was a super napper that day which allowed us to pack! We moved the next day so a lot had to be done. We did get out for a little bit and went to a birthday/4th of July party at the Meador's home. We skipped the fireworks and between moving boxes to the garage, settled for seeing a few that could be seen from our street. Before Jordyn and Adalyn went to my mom's we had a family day in Chicago. The three girls had never been so we made a day of it before the big move. Eden was awake for most of it and loved being outside! Eden and daddy hanging out I just love those little kissy lips! This has been an emotional month. Kyle and I have loved our time at CCCH and are sad to say goodbye to our friends and church family. Moving from the home, church, and town our girls have always known was hard on me. I think it is sad because they won't remember most of it. Thankfully we don't have a shortage of pictures to show them! Also with as many "lasts" we had at our old house, we have many "firsts" to look forward to in Arizona. I'm excited to see where God takes us and how He will use this program in our future.
